I have imported .OGM files in the past through ffdshow to Vdub

I had also encoded to OGM though but they come out as AVI's Odd that Both are containers and the mediainfo says OGM but they end up as AVI's One strange phenomenon is that one or two of these type of encoded files out of a handful would act strangely, wouldn't play correctly and 100% of the time would crash explorer if the thumbnail feature is enabled in explorer.

I haven't yet seen an OGM converter like what mkvmerge/mkvtoolnix does for creating matroska files. I like the alternative formats.

I made the changes of the first topic, but the same message still persists. What could be? You must restart your pc to make these changes?

When installing ffdshow tryouts, make sure that you have chosen VFW interface (in Select Components window).

Look at Start > Programs > ffdshow > VFW configuration shortcut

Or...
Start > Run > C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe ff_vfw.dll,configureVFW

Or...
Go to Compression... in VirtualDub, choose ffdshow Video Codec and Configure.

In ffdshow encoder configuration go to Decoder > Codecs.
