Hi all, I am using Processing (http://processing.org/) to write a groundstation for a UAV that will be required to display live capture footage (composite, PAL).

Processing has a built in capture library (http://processing.org/reference/libraries/video/index.html) for exactly this. It works fine when it finds the attached video devices, and plays back video from the built in webcam, just not from my USB capture device!

Both devices work fine in VirtualDub!

If anybody has any experience of getting the video stream from the device, help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Lewisgf

Hi Lewisgf

What USB device are you using. I have a Chinese EasyCAP clone with basic capture software. Would VirtualDub prove a better capture software?

My aim: S-VHS (PAL) to a quality NOT LESS than DV on PC, then edit and render final production into several streams:
* H264 AVC (SD) for flash memory devices and burning to BD;
* DVD PAL 720 x 576 @ 25fps; and
* MPEG-4 640x480 for web

I'm using Toshiba 750 laptops with i7 (2nd gen) CPU and 8G DDR3 each - no analogue connections, no 1394 - just USB3, USB2, Ethernet in and out, WiFi and Bluetooth; and HDMI and VGA outputs - running Win7 x64.
