My computer has a 64-bit CPU but I am running the 32-bit version of VirtualDub because some plugins I use, notably Deshaker, are available only in a 32-bit version.
Other plugins are available in 64-bit versions -- notably so, the ones to input files in .MOV, .WAV, WMV, .FLV formats, etc.
Instructions provided with these plugins say to create a plugins64 subfolder under the VirtualDub folder, and put the plugins there. I don't see any information though on whether these plugins are compatible with the 32-bit version of VirtualDub. Are they? If so, is there any advantage in using them when the computer has a 64-bit CPU? (Might be faster with the added bit depth...)?
Also if so should I delete the corresponding 32-bit versions?
And -- I already have two plugins folders -- "plugins" and "plugins32". Are different 32-bit plugins specific to these folders or may they be installed in either one? |
