Hi, Your excelent MPEG-2 plugin for VirtualDub almost works with MXF files recorded by the newest Canon cameras. The video is recorded as MPEG-2 50Mbps 4:2:2. Many frames are shown using your plugin, but some are blank. Can you please check it and make it work if it is possible? VLC Player has no problem to play such files. Here is a link to thread with lot of test samples: http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/canon-xf-serie...lcox-brown.html Direct link to one of the samples: http://files.dvinfo.net/samples/CANONXF/CO...58/AA005801.MXF Thank you! |

I had a look at some of these. There is a lot of unknown data in there that I can't make sense of, and some crucial elements that I need are missing. It's blind luck really if my MPEG-2 plugin shows a picture at all...
They are definitely not Program Streams; maybe they are a proprietary kind of Transport Stream. Whatever they are, they diverge too much from the MPEG standard and I will not be able to support them. Sorry.

I can now confirm that with the latest version of the MPEG-2 plugin v4.1 from June 30th, 2011, most of the MXF videos I tried work perfectly. I can edit and convert the short samples. I see trouble only with two videos that are not progressive type. So whatever you have fixed it just made it work. Thank you! To have the MXF file opened in VirtualDub with MPEG-2 plugin all you have to do now is rename the file and add .VOB at the end. |
