I've got a series of images that have obvious flicker between frames. The amount of brightness difference isn't large but it's enough that the clip has a very nice, seizure inducing stroboscopic effect to it.
I'm trying to use MSUDeflicker to calm as much of the variation as I can. Documentation on the site of the filter provider is pretty scarce.
Anyone able to assist with a reasonable explanation of the various components of the MSUDeflicker control panel?
I understand the Blend option. That will blend the brightness differences between frames together. Don't understand the Break option, although from what I can gather if the flicker is uneven throughout the frame then using the Break option may help.
Don't really get what Safety, Change Ground or Blend Threshold mean. Increasing them all to the max seems to do the best job of reducing the flicker but that's not exactly the smartest way to go about it.
My guess is blend threshold is the amount that the brightness will be blended between frames. Higher means more blending of the differences. Close? The other two, no idea.
Thanks.
EDIT: Couple other questions. Since this is a timelapse clip, is it better to apply the filter to the source input images or an already created video? Also, I haven't tried it yet but does anyone know if the filter can be applied more than once for increased effect? |
