Anyone know of or is planning on working on an MTS/M2TS plugin to support AVCHD video? We just got a 1080/30p camcorder (Canon HF10), want a simple way to be able to work with the video (the camera saves the files as .mts, the software seems to call it as .m2ts; which I believe is probably different than .m2t, but I may be wrong).

I haven't tested it, but maybe the DirectShow plugin with TS splitter (for example Haali's) and a H.264 decoder (ffdshow) would do the job too.

Edit: Just tried it on a video from HDV camcorder (TS/MPEG-2) and it works fine.

We actually ended up using the Haali splitter with avisynth to input to VirtualDub, seemed to be the simplest way to get it going. Now we just need a simple way to output from VirtualDub to our own file format rather than using AVI and transcode between.

There is not really any way to let VirtualDub output anything else than AVI.

*** NO PROBLEM *** (lol)

You have to use Super to convert the file from m2ts to avi:

After the conversion, you have an VDub editable avi file. I mean it is sooooooooo easy, but obscure. Just converted some of my Sony m2ts files 2 hours ago. Works like a champ, and it is FREE too (and I don't get paid a commission either, damn).

Mike.
