Recently I've been having a problem with my audio desynching when attempting to encode an MPEG-1 to AVI, regardless of the codec used for either audio or video. Encoding unedited to AVI works flawlessly, but if I attempt to strip something out of the resulting file (commercials, for example), I lose audio synch directly after the first cut.
Aside from upgrading VirtualDub to the latest versions, I haven't changed anything in my processing profile, so I don't see what I'm doing wrong. |

this happens when the mpeg is either is corrupt or not multiplexed properly, usually comes with unaired pilots (Dark Angel, Firefly etc.) its got nothing to do with the codec.
PS. this is NOT an advanced video processing topic. think carefully before choosing this forum, Thanks.

@PhyreFox: Read this: Removing Comercials
The procedure is the same for MPEG1 to AVI; do all of your cutting in VirtualDub before saving and you shouldn't have sync probs.
