I haven't been able to find an instance of my problem, so I am hoping someone will have an idea. I have an AVI on my computer and it plays fine, no problems. No matter what I do, I can not save it with any program, including virtual dub without getting a picture with distorted horizontal lines. If anybody has an idea of a way to edit this video so that it's possible to encode into DIVX, I would appreciate it. It's 318 X 238 at 15.001FPS. Here's a screenshot of what the whole thing ends up looking like:

Thanx for any help ahead of time. |

DivX requires the width to be a multiple of 4.
Hey, weird...
Your post is strikingly similar to this one: http://virtualdub.everwicked.com/index.php...2ae15aa455433c0
And your picture is strikingly similar to the .bmp link in this post: http://virtualdub.everwicked.com/index.php...9d828f48d164916

Thanx for replying to me on both forums...I have changed the size quite a few times to different multiples of 4 and 16, but the video still saves looking like the picture. The original plays fine, but I want an edited version to also play fine so I can load it into a DVD or VCD. Could I be doing something wrong with the resizing? It always says 320 X 240 or whichever I change it to. |

Hey....thanx for pointing me in the right direction. I finally got a chance to mess with them again, and they turned out perfect. Just a matter of going to 16bit color depth. Thank you again |
