OS is Vista64, but use VD 1.7.8 because nothing newer works or filters not available: I just discovered the Video Display feature, but it only moves when using the arrow keys or moving from key frame to key frame and of course there is no audio playing. When playing the video, the audio plays but its display stays in whatever position it is in when playing commences. The same happens on the XP computer.
How to get the audio display to advance as the video plays??? |

First, you should upgrade to a newer version. I fixed a couple of bugs that only manifested on Vista/7, most notably drag-and-drop on the batch wizard.
Second, you can't get the audio to play when just stepping frames. You can have both audio and video playing when using the preview modes, but do make sure that the panes are enabled in the View menu. |

Thanks, but as I actually wrote, the audio display, "only moves when using the arrow keys or moving from key frame to key frame and of course there is no audio playing. When playing the video, the audio plays but its display stays in whatever position it is in when playing commences. The same happens on the XP computer."
and again, "How to get the audio display to advance as the video plays?" In other words, the audio display remains fixed; how does one get it to move when the video and audio are playing and both viewing panes are enabled?"
I hope this can be made to work, because it would make VD even more superior than it is.
Separately, are many filters for the 64 bit version of VISTA available, specifically, "Exotic Fade," which I use 80% of the time?

Oops, apologies. The audio display currently can't update during playback. The reason is that there is a conflict between the code that updates the display and feeds the playback engine that prevents both from running at the same time.
There is nothing special about running VirtualDub or filters on a 64-bit version of Windows. The only thing that matters is that the bitness of your filters must match the version of VirtualDub you are running, i.e. 64-bit filters with the 64-bit program. The 32-bit versions of VirtualDub and filters will work the same way on 64-bit versions of Windows. |

Thanks for the confirmation of the audio problem; I was beginning to form a new conspiracy theory with the software sellers. Will the problem be fixed soon or is it a complicated long term one?
I was asking about the 64 bit filters because last I checked, there were only a few available. Are the filters for 1.7.8 VDub 32 bit and work in the 64 bit version of VDub? As you might perceive I am not a technical person.
