i am capturing using an ati rage 128 and am putting the finished clips usually of football (the english game) on webpages and would love it if someone could give me several steps to go through to achieve decent quality at a size say 2 or 3mb per minute. at the mo i can only get my files to 5 or 6mb by creating wmv files which still retain the quality i require. i am in uk and its pal here and the final clip is usually 320 x 240 although i would love it larger but accept this may not be possible. cheers alan |

Sounds like you're fighting the old quality vs. file size dilemma; smaller files = less quality, and there's no getting around it.
You might try DivX 5.0.2 with b-frames enabled and "Pre Processing Source" set to "Extreme." IME, this produces results as good as WMV (perhaps better).
