Several people have advised that I use the DNR (Dynamic Noise Reduction) filter.
I added it, with the default parameter of 12, and I can tell (from before and afters) that it works.
But ... when I click "Configure" to adjust that value ... the small dialog window opens and immediately closes before I can adjust the value.
Any ideas? This is the only filter I've tried that has this problem. |

@dloneranger
For your information:
The dialogbox shows fine in VirtualDub 1.9.11, but not in 1.10.4.x, nor in 1.10.5.x. And this as well for the Original (dnr1.vdf) as for the MMX (dnr2.vdf) version of the DNR filter.
We can see that Avery Lee (alias phaeron) was also involved ... so maybe he can help about this ? |

dloneranger: Yes ... those are the two filters I'm having trouble with. Sorry I wasn't clear enough.
Abrazo: I am running 1.10.4
But I'm confused. The tone of the last 2 replies makes me think this might be a feature and not a bug. Which is it? |

filter's open source so maybe recompiling it with newer VD libraries will help?
is it better than smoother / temporal smoother? |

I am not a big fan of this filter It only works well if there are no fast moving objects. Temporal artifacts are generally created by moving objects. |

It's a bug in the filter -- it has a subtle bug in its dialog code that causes it to fail when XP+ visual styles are enabled on the host application. Posted a fixed version a while back:
