1. Does it happen with all video files?

Yes

2. What version of VirtualDub and/or VirtualDubMod are you using? (The version number is in the top bar)

I tried 1.9.9 and the newest both...also tried 32 and 64 bit versions on 2 different computers

3. If you are using VirtualDub, does it also happen if you are using VirtualDubMod? If you are using VirtualDubMod, does it also happen if you are using VirtualDub?

Not using it

7. When exactly does the error/problem occur? Openning the file? When you click the Save button? Partway through the save process? At the end of the save process?

Right after I hit the >0 it does nothing

8. What is the EXACT error message? If it just brings up the debug dialog, then say so. Saying, "I got an error." means nothing to anyone.

It has the "No Previous Frame to Match on" at the bottom left. No video moving or anything

9. What Operating system are you using?

Tried win 8.1 and win 7

So there you go. I have went on many different websites and none of them had the answer for me. I watched Youtube tuts and did it step by step and still no good. I am using an MP4 with the QT Plugin if that helps any. I can scroll through the video and see the frames but that is it.

I can't for the life of me figure out why it is not working.

No Previous Frame to Match on

That's normal on the first frame, as there was no previous frame to match

You don't need to play the file any more, for the first pass you can use the 'run video analysis pass' from the menu instead
Try that instead

Also normal, I believe, if you try to preview a frame that hasn't been previously processed in Pass 1.

I didn't know about 'run video analysis pass' (thanks!) and have always selected 'Pass 1', played the whole video from start to end, then selected 'Pass 2', and there's the corrected video.

2nd pass gives a solid black image with deshaker: this frame was not processed in pass 1
The no previous frame to match on appears on pass 1 when you're on frame x but frame (x-1) isn't in the log eg
at the start of the video, or moving the timeline slider

Rereading his post again, there is this part

Just checking, but you do mean the 3rd button from the left at the bottom... not typing those two characters wink.gif

This worked just right!

I don't know why it didn't work with the 3rd button from the left. But now it is showing the video and the processing window. So far So good! Will let you know if it stops or finishes.

Thanks a ton for everyone that helped!
