Hello
Re: wma video files
I'm at the early stage of opening the video file. When i try and open a wmv video file, i get the ASF files not supported sign
I have installed WMV plugin (version 2.8) no good at all I'm still getting the ASF files not supported sign pop up.
Can someone please advise what i need to install?

When using the WMV inputdriver plugin, you need also a "Video for Windows" compatible decoder for video and an ACM for audio.
I think you can better install the DirectShow inputdriver plugin. > http://www.virtualdub.org/beta/DShowInputD...Driver-0.93.zip This plugin will use the DirectShow video and audio decoders that normally are present by default in your Microsoft Windows operating system.
After installation (= unzip the file "DShowInputDriver.vdplugin" to the "plugins32" subfolder of your VirtualDub installation), you should be able to open WMV-files. To be sure that the right inputdriver is being used: > in the "Open video file"-dialogbox of VirtualDub > first select the WMV > then at "Files of type" choose "DirectShow inputdriver" > finally, click on the "Open" button |

Thanks Abrazo your "DShowInputDriver.vdplugin" advice worked.
I have decided using MSU Logo Remover Video plugin. I get to the stage where i have to" tick remove logo, preview" If you look at screen capture http://i45.tinypic.com/25f1xsh.jpg instead of logo masked etc, the preview is solid red.
Please could you advise me again?
Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks

The most recent version of MSU Logo Remover is 3.0b > http://www.compression.ru/video/logo_remov...ogo_remover.zip
MSU has a manual available here: > http://www.compression.ru/video/logo_remov...guide_3_0_b.pdf
It seems like you must first save your AVI (or play via the Output Playback) when the MSU Logo Remover filter is in the Working mode: "Detection". This is the "first pass". At that stadium you can indicate what kind of logo can be detected and where the information about the logo-detection can be stored. It seems also to be normal that practically all the resulting view in the right panel of VirtualDub is black (or maybe red, or another color, ...).
After a maximum of 1800 frames the filter will be sure where the logo is located. You will see it in VirtualDub's Output panel (at the right). You may then stop the playback.
In a second run you can now set the Working mode to "Removal" and choose what has to be done with the logo: substract / blur / ... At that stadium you may directly write the result to a new videofile. |
