hello guys,
I have a issue regarding mp4 to avi conversion. I'm using this: http://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act...=4&t=18798&st=0
DirectShow input driver (place this in .\VirtualDub\plugins\) Haali Media Splitter (for MP4, M2TS/MTS and Matroska) ffdshow-tryouts (for MP4, M2TS/MTS and Matroska)
With virtualdub 1.10.2 32bit.
The problem is when I convert the mp4 to avi, the audio (final file) is idling.
I'm using win 7 64 bit. all my codec are 32 bit. And I use Lame mp3. How to fix this please ?
Sorry my bad english ^^
Thanks in advance. |

The audio-part of MP4 is often encoded in AC3. Did you install the AC3 ACM (decoder-)driver ? (it is available via fccHandler's stuff): http://home.comcast.net/~fcchandler/index.html
Instead of using the DirectShow inputdriver in combination with Haali Mediasplitter and ffdshow, I should recommend you to install the QuickTime plugin (also available via fccHandler's stuff) to open MP4 files with VirtualDub. After installation: in the Open video file-dialogbox, click one time on the MP4-file and than choose Files of type: "Quicktime files", before clicking on Open !
When you open the MP4 via the QuickTime plugin, and than you click the "Play" button in VirtualDub, do you hear the sound ? Eventually, look in File > File information... to verify if the audio has been recognized.
Finally (before doing File > Save As to AVI...) take care to choose an appropriate codec for Audio > Compression... (for example Lame MP3 or MPEG-Layer 3).
