Decompressor Error

I am a complete newbie so please be gentle with me rolleyes.gif

I get the following error when trying to open an avi file in VirtualDub:-

Couldn't Locate Decompressor for Format Div3 (Microsoft high-Speed MPEG-4v3 [hack:DivX Low Motion])

VirtualDub Requires a Video For Windows (VFW) compatible codec to Decompress video...Directshow codecs such as those used by Windows Media Player are not suitable..

Sorry for all the text but am trying to give all info..

It seems that you don't have divx3.11 installed in your system.Just install it and all will be fine.

You can also install DivX4/5 ( www.divx.com ). This codec is legal and also able to decode MS-MPEG4v3/DivX3.11;-).
