I am trying to use Virtualdub and the deshaker plugin with video recorded from a Canon t2i camera, 1080p 30fps. I have ffdshow installed and the quicktime plugin (as Canon saves video as a .mov file). I am able to open the video, and the first few frames are fine. By the third or fourth frames, the entire content is nearly grey, blocky, and extremely pixelated. What is strange is that the first couple of frames of each second of video (e.g. frame 30, 31, 60, 61 etc.) are fine but all remaining frames are washed out with that grey blocky, pixelated look. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?

I have version 1.9.9 (32 bit) and all plugins I downloaded are 32 bit, but I am running on a 64 bit version of windows 7. Any help would be appreciated, as the deshaker plugin looks to be exactly what I need!

By the way, the videos play fine in quicktime, windows media player, and VLC.

Thanks for any advice,
Dave

When you open file, select - Ask for extended options after this dialog.
Then, in import options change video decoder mode to ICM Decomp (for H.264/AVC video) or MoviesTask (for other video formats).

Default decoder mode is Decomp Sequence, however probably by mistake (because mostly decodes incorrectly).

You can save revised plugin configuration using option Save to Quicktime.ini.
