I'd like to leave virtualdubvcr minimized somehow, but the timer window doesn't seem to let me minimize or close it without turning off the timer.
The other problem I have is with vritualdub itself in capture mode. It seems to lock overlay mode so I can't open any player window without having it fail on overlay mode and be forced to use preview mode.
I'd like to leave virtualdub in capture mode (with vcr timers) but turn off its use of the overlay so I can continue to use other programs that use the overlay while vdub(vcr) is minimized. Is that possible?

1. use the latest version (1.4.9) from http://www.virtualdub.net 2. disable the preview option in vdub (it also helps reducing cpu load while capturing) 3. i never had such a problem. i can leave it on timer mode, minimized (the main window), and just put the timer window aside. |

hehe, I'm not completly sure but try to uncheck 'abort on left mouse button'... file->capture avi->capture->settings - abort settings

Hi,
I am using 1.4.9, but how do I turn off the preview option? I have Capture->Preferences->Initial DisplayMode = No display
but whenever I open bsplayer (www.bsplay.com) to view another avi, it says overlay mode not available so I assume virtualdub is still locking it.
None of these are checked: Video -> Overlay/Preview/Preview+Histo
But I think overlay mode is still locked?
Secondly, it is the timer window I can't minimize. Moving it aside is a solution but not a very good one. Maybe if I have time and can figure it out I will try to load the source in vc++ and recompile with a minimize button on that timer window.

Just a FYI: VirtualDubVCR 1.4.9.2 + SYNC is on virtualdub.net and it lets you minimize the capture timer window.
