Am planning to convert my SVHS and VHS tapes to SVCD or DVD. Have capture card Happague win (something or other) (older analog w/composite input only no audio) using the brooktree chipset.

? Am familiar w/ the DVD2avi and TMPGEnc encoding softwares, do I take the captiured SVHS and VHS files and convert them to DVD2avi files?

? If not what software and how?

? If yes to first question, can I use the DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc softwares?

Thank You! unsure.gif

What you can do is :

Capture using Virtual Dub and a lossless codec if you have space enough (mjpeg codec if not, lossy, but good quality)

Then directly feed the AVI into TMPGEnc. No need to use DVD2AVI I think.
