I am using VD1.7.8 I use DVDdecrypter to rip a dvd onto my HD. I then use Aimersoft DVD to convert the VOBs into AVIs. I load one of those AVI's into VD to edit and I press play, it plays fine both the video and audio, but as soon as I hit pause/stop the video turns into a bunch of fuzz, I then hit play again and the fuzz turns into a clear video frame, no video, the audio continues to play fine. What codec do I need here? If codec is the issue. I use to edit VOBs that we're converted into AVIs all the time with VD but had a new HD installed, I just installed VD 1.7.8 and nothing else. Am I missing codec or something? I've tried VD MPEG2 and MOD and in those it does the same thing but when I pause there is no fuzz just a clear video frame, and when I hit play again a 0050 error pops up. If any more info is needed please reply and I will provide it ASAP. Thank you. wacko.gif
I ran the avi video I want to edit in VD through Gspot and it says:
Video-Codec-XVID-ISO MPEG-4(Codec are installed)
Audio-0x0055(MP3) 44,100Hz 96kb/s 1-channel(Codec are installed)

I'm running XP. I know I need to download something as I have edited these types of files through VirtualDub many times in the past with no problems.
