I was trying to copy the first 30 frames of a video and paste it onto the end, expecting the length of the entire video to increase by 30 frames.

But the "Paste" did nothing. I must be missing what paste is for. Anyone?

What I did was set selection start to frame zero, set selection end to frame 29, then "Copy", then move timeline position to end of video, then "Paste".

Is there a reason it doesn't make sense for paste to work like this?

thanks,
ltg

The reason this happens is because the Paste command, currently for better or for worse, also nukes the current selection if you have one. I designed it after selection in a text box, which does the same thing. I'm not sure if it's all that useful in a video timeline, though....
