I am very new to capturing video let alone virtual dub. I bought MEP 11 a while back only to find out the audio was out of snyc. When I posted a question about that I was led to VD. That started another delima. My pc was old and only had an 80gig drive. I have now built a pc with amd 64 x2 5200+, asus 8500gt vid card and 250gig hard drive. I downloaded VD with the new pc only to see the audio out of snyc again. I'm sure this is a newbie thing but I was not sure what settings I should use. There are alot of options for capturing so I'm sure somthing was not selected correctly. Any help would be great. I know there is going to be a learing curve, but i'm willing to stick it out. Most of the vids are 2-3 hrs long.

Is it out of sync at the start the same as it is at the end, or ok at the start and progressively more as the file plays?

I don't have that issue, and it may not help, but here are my settings for the capture timing options.

There is an option in the capture menu to "Enable timing log" which may help someone diagnose the issue.

Which capture device are you using? Does it use the sound card line in? If yes, which sound card are you using?

Ok, I just recorded a few minintes of the tape. As I am capturing the video, it is out of snyc as it plays. Is there a setting I should use?
