For real player formats I always use the free program R7C to convert to avi. It's never failed me for anything that can play with Real Player, including streams but gives best quality with downloaded files. Just drag your real file into the window and it automatically enters it as the url and choose sound + image in the options and I always use the uncompressed option for best quality.

I played around with real player files back in 1999 when I first got the computer. I did install the real alternative in case I ever came upon those kind of files. I haven't seen a real audio/video file in a long time.

Is there a reason people still use this format? Not meant to be insulting to the format mind you. Just haven't come across them in ages.

Real Player format videos are harder to find but there are plenty of sites featuring audio in realplayer format.

http://www.doowopfix.co.uk/ has lots of oldies in real format The video section is small but keeps changing every few months.
