Hi folks
I have had virtual dub for a few months now and find it amazing and so simple
BUT i have just tried to do one of my home made digital videos but it wont let me as it says it cant locate the suitable compressor for dvsd.
it requires a a video format for windows compatible codec to decompress videos. direct shows codecs such as those supported by windows media player are not suitable.

I am very new to editing and found this programme great and easy to use for me being a dimwit, lol.
But this is just a little bit out of my league i'm afraid.
Any ideas????
Thanx in advance

Jason

http://virtualdub.everwicked.com/index.php...t=ST&f=4&t=8122 <- Last post in this thread lists several other threads where that topic is covered.

Please do search next time. The "DVSD error" is so common, it´s hard not to stumble accross it.

You need a DV codec. Panasonic or Mainconcept have them, I believe. The above mentioned threads will give you more information.

Thanks for teh info.
It works a treat
Only problem is my processor isnt that quick and it opens up a lot bigger than the 1.5 version so it is realy slow for me.
But Yup it does split nicely and when i play back the snipped bit it is nice and clear.
TY again
