I've been told there is an option of lossless Mpeg2.
Is that correct? I doubt about this, so I'm asking you people.

No, high datarate 4:2:2 MPEG2 can be visually lossless, but lossy on the data. |

Yes the MPEG consortium does not dabble in lossless codecs. |

This question was because some Media 100 guys told me that their system uses An Mpeg2 lossless compression with a 2:1 ratio. |

FWIW, PicVideo makes a lossless JPEG codec and it's ratio is about 2:1. I believe Huffyuv is faster, though.
