hello
i'm trying to encode a movie with subtitles, but i get the following message after trying to save it:
"You are trying to compress with a hacked compression driver.
This may cause VirtualDub to act or crash unexpectedly...."
i tryed choosing differebt kindes of audio compression drivers, al resulting in the same message.
my os is win xp pro, and i have the nimo5(build 8) codec pack fully installed.
another odd thing is that i don't have any divx audio codecs listed in VirtualDub under "audio>compression"
how can i solve these problems??

1. Dont use the DivX Audio codec, it sucks ( hacked version of old WMA )
2. You can ignore this error message if you insist to use WMA, your movie will play fine anyway.
Search the internet for 'mp3' 'codec' , sometimes people make presents to other, maybe somebody will lend you a valid Fraunhofer MP3 installer  ???
EDIT :
Hum, after reading your message again it seems i completely missed the point. The Nimo pack in fact should come with a MP3 codec. And you say DivX Audio is not even listed under 'audio' 'compression' ? Thats strange because the Nimo pack should install it, amongst others.
What is the source movie you are trying to work on ?

the source movie is "half baked" (does it matter ??)
or did you mean the source file format > divx.
anyway i understand the best way is to encode audio with an mp3 codec.
i'll try this.. |
