hi, i just wonder if motion wavelet compression is better then divx. because wavelet formats dont have these ugly block-artefacts.
i'm still shearching for any demo of such a codec, but if i find one, ill post some compression results. |

The lower complexity of the wavelet transform does indeed mean you can encode entire images without blocking, but there are other reasons to block the image besides the image transform, two being motion prediction and error recovery. Indeo is wavelet-based but still has block artifacts at high compression ratios. |

Yes and while wavelet based codecs don't tend to block they tend to blur. Bad. |
