Does anyone know of a null codec, one that just takes the video,
dumps it, and writes a blank output file or none at all, like for
extracting AC3 out of a VOB file? It might have other uses,
that was a bad example. But does it exist?

It might have other uses ...

huh.gif Like what? TMPGEnc can demux the AC3 from a VOB file, and VirtualDub can demux the audio from an AVI file. So why do you need a null codec?

May the FOURCC be with you...

there is a null render for use in custom made graphs for graphedit...
but you don't need to use it if you make a custom graph.
you just don't connect anything to it.

if you a demuxing something strange (like pulling a subtitle track out of an avi) you can do that with graphedit, profided you have the filters to render it...
