Have searched several internet forums and tried several solutions without any result on this. I cannot remember if it worked before but I noticed the problem a few weeks ago when I had to use Virtualdub after not using it for a while. I tried to compress a video but in the compress menu there were no codec except for the "regular" Windows standard codecs.
Using Windows 7 64-bit. I have tried to use both 32-bit and 64-bit of Virtualdub an installed K-Lite Codec Pack when I bought the computer six month ago. Also tried to use 32-bit and 64-bit of K-Lite Codec Pack, but still no appearance of the codecs....

I installed a standalone Xvid codec which appeared fine in the compression menu. I remember having no problems with codecs disappearing when using MS Vista.
Is there any solution that might work in this case?

Only VFW/ACM codecs will appers in VirtualDub.

Remember that the 32-bit VirtualDub will see only 32-bit codecs while the 64-bit VirtualDub will see only 64-bit codecs.

K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 32-bit contain the ACM codecs for MP3, AC3, WMA, Vorbis (if you select them during installation).
If you want install manually you can get 32 and 64-bit AC3ACM.

Both 32 and 64-bit K-Lite Codec Pack contain also ffdshow-tryout (with its VFW codecs).
If you want some other VFW codecs you can get 32 and 64-bit Xvid and 32 and 64-bit x264vfw (another version of x264vfw with more options).

Well I used 32-bit Virtualdub with 32-bit K-Lite Pack and 64-bit, you see. Still no clue what's wrong. I installed all codec that I could in the K-Lite pack but none of them appear in neither 32 or 64-bit.. I know it have worked before on another computer (no I do not have that computer anymore) with the K-lite pack. I do not want to be installing several codecs + the K-Lite pack since I know the K-lite pack have worked before...

For now I'm talking only about VirtualDub 32-bit.

How I alread said the codecs aren't intended to appears in VirtualDub (because most codecs aren't VFW/ACM).
The only one that you can make it appears with the 32-bit K-lite codec pack are Xvid, x264vfw and ffdshow for video and MP3, AC3, WMA, Vorbis for audio.
