Vdub Recorded File: Editing With Première

I found that I couldn't edit a file recorded with Vdub and ffdshow using Première Pro until I had installed ffdshow.
I always assumed that Première could decode everything, but clearly here it needs the specific decoder.
Interesting though, that it can do this. Sorry if this subject is not Vdub specific.
