Among these two which menu has priority over the other.
FfdShow->VFW Settings->Codec
FfdShow->Video Settings->Codec

In following examples which one takes effect, and which one is 'required' for VD to edit WMV files.
case 1) //which one takes effect among these two
VFW Settings->WMV9 = disabled
Video Settings->WMV9 = Wmv9 or Libcodec

case 2) //which one takes effect among these two
VFW Settings->WMV9 = Wmv9 or Libcodec
Video Settings->WMV9 = disabled

Thanks in Advance
Ramesh

Shortcuts created by current version of ffdshow installer it's: VFW configuration and Video decoder configuration (also few other).

If You use WMV input plugin, go to VFW configuration (and Decoder tab).
This plugin uses VfW codecs (like VirtualDub) and does not use DirectShow.

If You use DirectShow import driver, go to Video decoder configuration (it's ffdshow DirectShow filter config).
But usually it is not necessary, because Windows system contain own DirectShow WMV decoders.

No priority between this (VfW/DirectShow), because it's different 'frameworks'.

VirtualDub natively does not support ASF container (normally used for WMA/WMV). However can use (mentioned earlier) input/import plugins.
