I think this is the best forum to place this question in.
Basically, I'm trying to open an AVI in Virtualdub, and it says the following:
"Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'CSCD' (Unknown)
Virtualdub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable."
Here's the thing. I have the codec installed. It's the Camstudio Lossless Codec. Otherwise, I couldn't record in it.
So, why can't VirtualDub recognize it?
I'm running Vista 64-bit, and I'm using VirtualDub 1.9.10
I've Googled this, but it seems I'm the only person on the entire Internet who seems to have this problem, because nothing relevant to my situation has come up at all. Except for one thing where a guy asked a question for a different thing (a Windows movie maker, or something) and the guy just asked more questions.
EDIT:

I've tried this solution.
Virtualdub still gives me the exact same error.
This makes me think it isn't reading any of my codecs whatsoever.
EDIT: Nevermind! The solution was to go to the FFDShow VFW options and then set it so that the CSCD codec wasn't set to "disabled"
Sorry to waste your time, folks. Hopefully, this'll help anyone in the future who has any problems. |
