Hi!
I have a videorecorder connected over a coax cable into my tV card in the computer .
As I am turning on virutualdub and start recording .
It will record the film but I can not get any tone .
What is wrong . Please anyone help me .

When I run that film with virtualdub I get a very low noise tone hardly to hear .

What settings I will have to make .

Check Windows' Volume Control, the recording properties. Make sure it is set to record (at a decent volume) from whatever source you have the audio input connected to.
There should be either be a cable running from your TV card to your sound card (probably to "Line In", which you should then select in Volume Control)
or your capture card supports audio capture functionality by itself, in which case you need to tell Windows that that is the default sound recording device (which you can find under the "Multimedia" applet in Windows' "Control Panel").

when you say "coax" do you mean a UHF cable like from yr antenna ?

Don't you have a composite video and L/R stereo out from yr VCR so you can connect to video in and audio in on the PC.. ?
surely that would be better than relying on an extra UHF conversion

Note that your TV card will not capture audio, but only video. You have to connect the audio out from your VCR to the analog input sockets of your soundcard ...
