I want to use VirtualDub to process video I have received from Yesvideo (a Ritz photo service) which digitized an old VHS of mine (I perform in it, produced it, and own it in all respects). Now it's on a DVD, and I can export it to WMV format using some Yesvideo software , or read the VOB files.

Taking the VOB road, VirtualDub opens them, the picture's great, but I get a completely unrelated soundtrack of some classical music I never heard, at least not on my computer or DVD. Strange.

Taking the WMV road, I did manage to get VirtualDubMod to show the WMV files correctly, following the French language tutorial (with AVIsynth).

I still wonder about the VOB phantom soundtrack. Any ideas?

Since it's improbable that decoding errors would turn into classical music, my guess would be that there is a second soundtrack in the VOB file. Weird, but possible.
