I don't see any reference to this particular problem in the forums, so I was hoping someone might have an idea on what is going on.
There are a number of movies that I have encoded using a good build of XviD that a vanilla WMP8 XP install cannot read. These files are 'magically' readable after upgrading the said system to MediaPlayer9. However, it seems that my XviD codec which existed in VirtualDub before then also disappears. Virtualdub sees the codec just fine until any avi file is opened. then the codec disappears.
I am not running the latest build of VirtualDub....and will test rebuilding a newer version soon.....however, I suspect that MediaPlayer9 is responsible for this odd behavior..has anyone seen this before??? |
