Has anyone managed to get VirtualDub to play AC3 audio (from an MPEG VOB file) in Windows Vista (Home Premium) yet?

Get "No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format. (source format tag: 2000)"

Obviously this is the Dolby AC3 format.

I have downloaded the AC3ACM v1.31 by fccHandler but i can't get it to install in Vista - the instructions "simply right-click on the "AC3ACM.inf" file, and choose "Install" from the popup menu" don't work in Vista (the "Install" option doesn't appear in menu)

Tried the "install new hardware" method from Control panel too but when i selected the .inf file for AC3 it told me it wasn't compatible with hardware or something...

I'm using VirtualDub-MPEG2 1.6.15... on Dell Inspiron 9400 Core 2 CPU machine.

Is this codec just not working in Vista yet or something? It all works fine (same Virtualdub and AC3ACM) on my Windows 2000 machine...

Anyone?

Did you have disabled the UAC ? If yes, you need to re-enable it...
