Dvsd Format, Help me please...

Hi everybody
I have this message when I try to open an AVI file:

"Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'dvsd' (unknown)

VirtualDub requires a VFW compatible codecto decompress video. DirfectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable."
