Hello all.
I really need your help. I purchased a Diamond PVR 550 video capture card. I installed it in my machine and everything seemed to go fine.
The Beyond TV software is not useful for the s-video imput that I would like to record so I downloaded virtualdub 1.6.9.
I can view the video feed fine and can record. When I go to video comression after selecting Capture AVI and setting the file, I only get (No recompression: CXF2).
There are no other formats available in the window. I have other codecs installed and can see them when I choose the video file (emulation) option from the device menu.
If I try to set a custom video format I get 720x480 and the data format is: (current: CXF2, 12 bits per pixel). I cannot change this format because it says: "The capture device does not support the selected video format."
Can someone suggest to me what might be the problem? |

Does anyone else have this card? Do you have these issues? My card might be defective. |

I've never heard of the card perhaps it can only record uncompressed AVI so it'll be pretty heavy on hard disc space. That shouldn't mean you can't compress it to say divx once its on the hard disc. Try the manufactures website they may be able to provide u with some info. |

Wow. I made a big mistake.
I was looking for a card that used the ATI Theater 550 Pro chipset. I made the faulty assumption that the Diamond Xtreme TV PVR 550 was using that chipset. Instead it uses the Conexant CX23416 MPEG Encoder based on Conexant's Falcon II reference design.
Does anyone have a card using that chipset and/org design? I'll probably be junking this card and getting a new one. Any suggestions? |
