Vitrual Dub Crash Failure Access Violation

I keep getting a program failure due to access violation and lots of code i dont understand, this happens after i click save avi for the second part of a divx movie almost immediatley can anyone help because its doing it all the time and i dont know any other programs or how to use them

please help

Can you please tell us exactly what you are trying ? What source do you have, which compression do you try (audio and video)...which other settings (filters...)

are you sure, that your cropping region is (x-factor) is divisible by 4 ?!!...

yes sorry im using direct stream copy from an avi source and im trying to split it in two the first split is fine but as soon as i try the second i get a a program failure just let me know if theres anything else you need to know

..are you sure its an AVI and not a renamed Ogg ?

i dont know what ogg is it is s file downloaded from grokster .avi on the end. HOW CAN I TELL WHQAT IT IS DO YOU KNOW?????????
