Greetings.
Retrieving/Seeing MediaInfo via a file explorer has (in my opinion) always been lacking. The Windows/XP shell has (only) a few fields - dimensions, bit/sample/rate ... and these load automatically & SLOWLY. AudioShell adds a dozen or so more Audio-MI fields to the Win/XP shell.
This week I found MKInfoCP 1.0.2b - a .wdx/content plugin for Total Commander. This plugin makes LOTS of multimedia MediaInfo fields available for ToC - or any other file explorer (whether freeware or not) that (purports to) support ToC plugins. These fields load QUICKLY. They finish loading before shell-MI items even start loading. This plugin isn't perfect. it has a stated limit of 20 file extensions & does not handle well retrieving MI from "corrupted" MM files, but it is otherwise an excellent utility for MM management.
This week I also discovered that one can configure ShellDetails - which adds all Win/XP shell info fields to ToC, to load Win/XP shell info fields (whether MM or not) ON DEMAND. So if you go into a folder/directory with LOTS of MM files, MKInfo will quickly load the MM-MI, and you can choose to load or not selected or all Win/XP shell info fields ... |
