Hi all,
I recently interviewed someone and recorded it using CamStudio. The interview was about 15 minutes, and from my research it appears that my problem is that I went over the 2 gb limit. After scouring the CamStudio forums, I came here. It appears that many people have issues going over the 2 gb limit but are able to recover their videos using Virtual Dub to load the temporary (pre compiled) files into one AVI file. One of the solutions by the CamStudio guru was to load the video file (assuming its an AVI) into VirtualDub, and then when opening it to "Ask for extended options" and then selecting "Re- Derive Keyframe Flags" and "Run in AVI compatibility mode." This seems to work for everyone, but here enters my (I'm assuming?) new problem- I used the CamStudio Lossless codec to record the video, and after I hit "Stop" and the compiling was supposed to start, an error came up (presumably from going over 2 gb). Now, instead of having 1 .wav file for the audio and 1 .avi file for the video, I have a .wave audio file and a 4gb .wav file that I assume holds the video. When I load the video file into VirtualDub, It plays a cropped, minute long video portion from the middle of the file. I can't select the "Run in AVI compatability mode" because it isn't an .avi file. I tried "Re-Derive Keyframe Flags" and that did nothing. Does anyone have any idea how I can use VirtualDub to save my precious video from this dreaded .wav file?
Please help!!
