I would like to know if anyone has tried the noise reduction plug-in from Neat Image for Virtualdub.

It may be slow, but I've been using it since beta and the ease of use, coupled with the excellent results make it my favourite denoiser for use in VirtualDub. |

What is your best settings for neat video inside of virtualdub? I want to smooth out the grains in a video.

This is by far the best noise reduction software out there for vdub. It slow but worth while for those nasty high noise videos. Settings depend on video, you have to keep tweeking. To much fitlering causes blurring, too little doesnt remove the noise. Roll the dice. I usually do an autoprofile for noise, noise filter settings on advanced and view YCrCb. Then cran things up until you see detail being effected. Attack high frequency noise, leave mid and low alone. Remember though, high frequency is also edges which is detail. Attack wisely! |
