On the Aipek camera, the 640X480 shooting mode is 11 fps. I use vdub-asf version since the Aiptek format is in ASF, bleck. The ASF gets converted to huffyuv and I noticed that when I imported the wave portion back into the video, through normal Vdub, the video and audio are out of synch. I extracted the audio so I could clean it up and amplify it, no cutting or altering of the length of the audio portion.

The video and audio isn't synched neither when using the setting "Synch video with audio" in the frames option menu.

Do I need to double, or triple, the amount of frames with dead frames or dupes?

I use TMPGEnc to convert ASF/WMV to AVI. Most MS files are variable framerate which will cause sync problems. TMPGEnc seems to handle this problem where Virtualdub doesn't.

Once the files are converted, then you can use a program like Goldwave or Audacity to change the volume of the audio and Virtualdub to join the fixed audio files with the AVIs.

You'll probably have to drag and drop the ASF file into TMPGEnc.

Thanks Darrell. I'll give tmpgenc a go. I use cool edit pro for working with the extracted audio.

The higher model Aipteks have 640x480 at 30fps, I have the mid-scaled model. I just wanted something for playing around with. If it breaks it's no big deal. It's a battery sucker, one hour on a set of AA's.

I like the digital8 though, way better quality than Aiptek and the nightshot feature is pretty cool. Black sweaters come out as a light white-green, skin palish and eyes blackened, lol.
