Went to use resize for 1st time in a few weeks and no matter what I did, it would freeze my computer, requiring a hardware reset. It would happen after adding the filter, then trying to move forward 1 frame.

Tried 352x480 to 640x480, 640x to 352x, 352x to 320x. (All w/interlace checked.) And at least one of these was tried with the 'smart resize' filter. Same freeze-up.

Very mysterious... Tried other files. Same problem. I'm using Vdub-mpeg2 1.5.10, a build from 9 mos. ago. Found and got current build. Still bad. Converted to a Huf avi w/no resize, then openned avi to resize leaving mpeg2 out of the picture. Still froze up.

Then I began to suspect a systemic problem. I tried to remember anything I might have done to my computer that could make it a bit weird. Only thing I could come up with is that some days ago (and since using Vdub last), I installed a program called "mp3 maker platinum" from "Magix". Today, I uninstalled that program, rebooted, and now the resize works!

What could there be about a © 2002 mp3 program that would somehow cause resize filter*s* to freeze the computer? I do remember answering questions during the install having to do with avi files.

I want to have one system that both runs "mp3 maker" and Vdub resize. Any thoughts, guys??

That's very strange. Could it be the program installs the Creative mp3 codec? This is known to cause freezes in VirtualDub, but I would've thought that it could only happen during encoding with mp3 audio... unsure.gif
