Windows 98SE 1300 Duron A7V motherboard
Virtualdub Build 18160 Tu Dec 02 00:11:07:2003 Mpeg audio decoder NEKoamp 2.o (priss)
Start virtualdub go immediatly to---OPTIONS---UNTICK---DISPLAY OUT VIDEO---FILE--- OPEN a file (.AVI)
OOPS possible out of bounds memory no exit or log file. CTRL ALT DEL virtualdub not responding. This problem is easily avoided and I mention it in case it gives a pointer to some code problem. |

If I'm not mistaken, that's my VirtualDub-MPEG2 build you're using. But I can't reproduce the crash on my own Win98SE system. Perhaps it's a video driver or DirectX bug.
EDIT: No, I'm probably mistaken. I forgot I released my build with the same build number on the same day... *slaps self*

Caused by a bug in system/source/memory.cpp -- rect memcpy() crashes if autodetect hasn't been run first, which occurs most often if you disable the output window. Workaround is to hit Video/Filters before doing anything to make sure the CPU detection occurs. Will be fixed in 1.6.0. |
