Hi, I am new VD - This is a fantastic program and congratualte the developers. v1.5.1 has worked well for me without problems or crashes.
I am really interested in using fractional decimation to allow 18-20fps for PocketPC divx video on my iqap rather than full frame rate (24fps) or decimation by 2 (12fps) so I was happy to try 1.5.2
I posted previously that with 1.5.2 on the nth pass of Divx (5.04) it would stall at 99% complete and consume virtual memory (others had similar issue)
Now with 1.5.3 on the first pass (video only) it is stalling at 100% job 1 in progress but all frames processed. Error log states both I/O thread and Processor thread not "cycled" for 10 seconds -- possible livelock.
Is this a problem with fractional decimation - running the exact same jobs in 1.5.1 with decimation by 2 causes no errors. I haven't tried decimation by 2 in 1.5.3 - but will run now and post result
Am I doing something wrong - ? is this a bug ?
Thanks Al |

Having a similar problem myself (I'm using the P4 version of 1.5.3). Using previous versions of Virtualdub and Divx 5.05, I usually do a three pass encode. However under 1.5.3, job control finishes 1st pass OK, but second pass stalls at 100%

Edit: Ooops just seen thread below

Hi I have been testing this for a while now. It seems that it is the second pass that it is stalling on for me (it only stalled on the first pass the first time I tried it).
I have tried decimation by 2 rather than fractional decimation with no difference. The only difference between what is happening now and what 1.5.2 did is that now virtual memory is not used up and on my last attempt the AVI file was readable - But I'll retest this last point.
Thnx Al |
