VirtualDub Error
Can't open "Y:\ABC\???? ?? ????.avi": The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

Is what I get for a file "ばか の ばか.avi" (filename in japanese, file created on a system with japanese locale set) if I open it in vdub (1.5.1 and earlier) on a system with english or swedish locale set.
WMP can play the file just fine when doubleclicking on it, and the filename appears in explorer correct as it should. (It does not show correct in the rightclick menu though).
Is there anything that can be done with vdub so that this file can be opened without renaming or changing locale?

edit: this is on a windows 2000 pro sp3 system.
