From your post, there is absolutely nothing we can tell except that you have a problem. Try giving us some information to work with, such as: - which version of VirtualDub are you using (there's no version 5.3)? - what are you trying to do? - where does it crash? - how does it crash? (i.e. do you get an error dialog box? -- if so, what does it say?) - a list of appropriate hardware (e.g. if you get this problem when capturing, what capture card do you have?) |

- even more important : what compression ( codec ) are you using - did you try to make something simple with it, like setting 'audio' and 'video' to 'Direct Stream copy' and save as new AVI ? Does it crash also ?

News to me, that many people are having this problem
On the other thread you started, you asked for alternatives. Search here for "Aviutl", you'll find at least one discussion I remember of where you can get that free tool. But be warned:
- it's not as good as VD feature-wise, with one or two exceptions
- it's not as stable as VD in general, in my experience (phaeron codes well, in my professional judgment)
- your problem is almost certainly somewhere in your codecs, etc., not in VD, so you'll experience the same problem in Aviutl if so |
