Used VDub 1.9.11 - all fine. Did nothing but update to 1.10.4 and now when I start rendering of a video, the input picture will move quite a lot downwards in the frame, leaving a black bar at the upper edge (or empty pixels that fill with whatever covers it) and cut off picture at the lower edge.
Just a display issue - rendered video is fine. Bothers me a bit though, since I can't always check whether image contents are alright.
Not dependent on encoder used, but doesn't happen on a Divx5 video I opened for render. Happens on AVC videos (h264/x264). Also happens if I use ffdshow-AVISynth for opening a video.

If I resize the input preview window to 50%, the pixel width of that offset remains the same. It's always 70 pixels.

Happens during playback in VDub, too.

Not sure whether this is really a bug or a user-fixable issue.

Haven't seen anything like that
You could try playing with the display options, untick 'use directx for display panes' (and all suboptions) and see if that changes it at all

Thanks. Disabling DX or additionally enabling D3D fixed it.
I could have thought of that myself, but I'm getting a bit confused with all the things I'm trying to fix lately. mellow.gif

TBH I usually just disable those options as a force of habit - some graphics drivers can do odd things with directx/3d, especially if they have 'optimized' settings for movies
