It is necessary that the chosen type of the opened file remained and for the following files while it wasn't changed by the user.
1) It is bad to choose each time, there is a lot of files.
2) Often there is a need of opening of files with alternative plaginy, instead of to what the program "is tamed".
3) It is impossible to do batch operation when files need to be opened other plug-ins, not by default.
They plug-ins don't open, and open as usual or leads to accident.

I ask the help to find the decision. This problem concerns all versions. If it isn't necessary for you, but, the decision will be found, I will introduce in the version.
Thanks.

I have to agree with you. I would like to see a default plugin for all file open operations (including command line & drag-and-drop)
  • Avi source
  • DirectShow source
  • FFmpeg source
  • No default; ask me each time
Of course, if this were done, after about five minutes people would then want default plugins for each file extension, and then once that's done, for each fourcc....

OK how about this - two plugin selections:
Plugin selection #1
  • Avi source
  • DirectShow source
  • etc
(applies to a set of extensions, for example "avi, .mp4")

Plugin selection #2:
  • Avi source
  • DirectShow source
  • etc
(applies to all extensions except those listed above)

1. It would be useful option for a remember and use the last plugin for all file loading, For normal video file load by adding an option on the file load window

2. Drag and drop for loading videos a window opens with all video load plugin listed. For batch Wizard all is needed is to drag and drop multiple videos and be able to select video load plugin to use for them. This will help for when user may need to drag and drop many videos while selecting different video load plugin to use for different batch wizard jobs

3. With normal drag and drop to virtualdub window a Pop window appears. For when user doesn't need to select a video load plugin to load a video. A written remark something like 'Press OK to continue video load without a video load plugin..'

4. With the option on the File load requester another also maybe located on the File Menu so easy to enable or disable the remembered selected video load plugin. To over-ride the current remembered video plugin, when enable will use again the last remembered video load plugin

My variant will not solve all.

At batch operation the program will work as before, the problem remains.

As already wrote:

Even the first file is processed not with plug-in which has opened 1 file.
It should be declared by the program that the file have to be decoded with it a plug-in!

These problems can be solved by a new option - decode video? Video < Dekoder < Select video deñompression, like Video < Compression < Select video compression.
And let if these option is chosen, then the program decode with chosen decoder. If it's not chosen, program work in a usual way.
How to make and who will make?

Your idea would need to use MediaInfo or similar to work maybe have additional setting to activate/deactivate it in the settings

Though that only auto loads the media with any video plugin to decode the video. What when someone needs to use a certain video load plugin over another one. A window seems to be a good choice that allows an easy way to select for everyone, lets see what Phaeron thinks of these ideas
