This seems like a tough one to duplicate, and I have no idea what caused it, but I think it deserves a report.
Captured an .avi with VirtualDub 1.5.1, and then processed it with DivX 5.0.3 for video, and normal (no enhanced bitrates) MPEG Layer-3 audio.
When I played back the file, I jumped around (as I usually do) to check the fades. I came across one particular frame (that looked normal), where if I tried to start playing from that exact frame, I got the above message (ACM reported error on audio decompress (200)).
I did not enconter the error starting on any other frame. I could move back a few frames, and play right through the frame in question without any problem. VirtualDub 1.4.13 behaved similarly (the same error message when starting to play on that exact frame). I have never seen this error before. I reprocessed the audio and video, and the new .avi file did not have this problem.
I don't have (that I know of) another media player that reports frame numbers, so I can't (easily) check this on other media players. Knowing that I could have bad spots in my output does seem a little disconcerting, though. |
